Worship
at Zion Mennonite Church
Zion Mennonite Church is a congregation in the Anabaptist tradition. We try to keep Jesus and his teachings central to our faith and practice. Weekly worship is at the heart of our faith community. In worship we connect with God and find encouragement to follow Christ in our daily lives. Service to our local community is also important to people who make Zion their faith home. You may find us working in any number of projects locally or globally. Connecting with the Holy Spirit’s work across cultural and geographical boundaries, as part of a global movement of Christ-followers, gives us encouragement to join in God’s healing and reconciling work in the world.
What to Expect
When attending Zion Mennonite Church’s one-hour 9:00 a.m. worship service in Souderton, PA, you’ll be greeted by an usher who will offer you a program for the days service. You’ll enter a beautiful worship space with high ceilings, stained-glass windows, and walnut pews. The worship service is structured, but yet relaxed. We sing praise songs and hymns, listen to scripture and a sermon by our pastors or a lay leader. There is also a children’s story and a prayer for the community and the peace of the world.
Visitors are not required to stand up to be introduced and we don’t have lengthy personal sharing from the pews. But we do hope to learn your name as you sign the attendance pad passed through the pews, and we encourage you to have a chat with an usher or the folks at the Welcome Center in the foyer.
The Welcome Center will help you find your way in the building and provide you with Sunday School and other church events. Our members tend to dress up a little more in the winter month – you may see some wearing a tie – but others are dressed business casual or wearing jeans.
There’s coffee available in Fellowship Hall after worship, and Christian Education classes for all ages after coffee. If you want a sneak-peek at what worship is like, check out the livestream archive of our service.
